Freshta Taeb is currently a Senior Refugee Interventionist specializing in refugee and youth intervention for resettled Afghan refugees. She works closely with a team that implements emotional wellness workshops for refugee teens and adults. Freshta performs Afghan cultural competency training for resettlement agencies and has co-written a handbook entitled "Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services for Afghans," a practical handbook for clinical and educational settings. She is also the Managing Director of FT Translation Services. Recently, she began teaching Behavioral Health Interpretation courses to various groups including mental health providers in NOVA and hosts an Afghan TV show that discusses community issues such as civic engagement. Before becoming an interventionist at Cornerstone, Freshta advocated for individuals and families through her position as a director for an agency providing culturally sensitive services to the underserved marginalized Middle Eastern and South Asian population. As a subject matter expert in Afghan refugee resettlement, Freshta has advised and lectured on various topics relating to domestic violence, refugee rights, and holistic health. She currently resides in NJ and in her free time enjoys promoting health and wellness within her local community through group fitness courses including Zumba and cardio kickboxing. Freshta has been with Cornerstone since 2018.
