Sidra Afzal-Baqai completed her BA in Psychology, Communication, and Sociology, during which she studied for a period of time in Madinah where she received a diploma in Arabic and from Jami Tayyiba. She recieved her diploma in Islamic studies from Islamic Online University. She is certified Mental Health First Aid first responder and a certified Life Coach. She has been an active volunteer in the communities across New England, including The Selimeye Mosque, MCNA-YM, and Iqra Academy through teaching Arabic, Quran, and Islamic Studies to students for the past 11 years. She is an advocate for spiritual wellbeing and mental health in her community.
She is currently pursuing her Alimiyah Degree from Darul Uloom Online and her Master's degree in Developmental Psychology through the Islamic Prespective at the International Islamic University of Malaysia. She is focused on spiritually integrated and faith based counseling by incorporating concepts from the Quran and Sunnah and postive psychology for spiritual healing, well-being and growth. She has been working at Cornerstone with women, teens and children.
